This first bicycle is now on display at Will’s flagship store in Venice. The 1940s vintage-inspired cruiser pays tribute to a Western pre-revolution period and the orginal mode of transportation in America, horseback. The interpretation features two ornately embossed saddlebags and an embossed bike seat, as well as leather trimmings throughout the frame. Brothers Mario and Gherardo Ghirardi, together with Guido Dall'Oglio, established Fabbrica Italiana Motocicli (using the brand name GD) in 1923 in Bologna to produce bikes powered by the Dall'Ogio designed 122cc 2-stroke single. The makila is a traditional Basque walking stick, and is notable as both a practical tool and a cultural symbol of authority and strength. The makila is a practical walking stick and a weapon for self-defense. They were (and still are) carried by shepherds to help guide their flocks as well as defend against wolves and other wild predators. They are carried by hunters and hikers in the Basque country as walking aids, and they are used in traditional folk dances. The makila can be swung by the handle for fast, light strikes or used the opposite way to strike with the pommel as an effective bludgeon. The concealed spike can be used to deadly effect either as a thrusting weapon, or thrown as a last resort.

The Laverda Cup race series was instigated by the company when the Italian government introduced a punitive 35% tax on motorcycles over 500cc in 1977 - just prior to the release of the 500 twin. It was one of the first, if not the first, single model race series and ran from 1978 to 1981. Three batches of Formula bikes were produced, each of 70 bikes - in '78, '79 & '81. The Formula was basically a Alpino S with an upgraded motor which used the S1 race cam, 10.5 to 1 pistons & a close ratio gearbox. Sandcast rear sets and Menani clip-ons were fitted along with the race fairing and seat/tank unit. The removal of all street equipment meant that, despite the additional bodywork, the Formula was 16kg lighter than the standard bike. This 1979 Series II bike is in original condition apart from the extra seat padding. 52hp at 10,000rpm. Wet weight 160kg. Top speed 200kph. Photographed by Phil Aynsley near Vicenza, Italy. 2013. The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was a supersonic fighter-bomber used by the United States Air Force. The Mach 2 capable F-105 conducted the majority of strike bombing missions during the early years of the Vietnam War; it was the only U.S. aircraft to have been removed from combat due to high loss rates. Originally designed as a single-seat, nuclear-attack aircraft, a two-seat Wild Weasel version was later developed for the specialized Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) role against surface-to-air missile sites. The F-105 was commonly known as the "Thud" by its crews.
