The V-twin range of Morinis were a product of ex-Ferrari designer Franco Lambertini, who was persuaded to join Morini in 1970 by Gabriella Morini (who had taken over the running of the company after her father's death in 1969). From the outset he designed the 350cc to be the basis of a modular series of bikes and in due course a 500cc version as well as 125 & 250cc singles were produced. The 350 was first shown in Strada guise at the Milan Show in 1971 and both it and the Sport entered production in 1973. The motor used several advanced features including Heron heads and the camshaft being driven by a toothed belt. This bike was restored by SCR Ducati for owner Brett Poole and has a few non standard parts including the tricolour Sport badge (should be red) on the top triple clamp, mirrors & the trim strip on the seat. 37hp at 8,500rpm. Dry weight 150kg. Top speed 172kph. Photographed in the Hunter Valley, NSW. 2014.
