With September comes the end of Summer in England together with the great end of season event, the Goodwood Revival. The sensory overload is particularly brutal, surrounded by beautiful people, immeasurably rare machinery, noise which you hear hardly anywhere else (I spent 90% of the weekend walking around with earplugs in to try and defuse the aural onslaught) and so many friends you have missed for so long. I took hundreds of photos so will try and break them in to some categories over the next few days, with the pinnacles of automotive engineering in static beauty from the paddock being first up. Above: a line up of Astons consisting of 2 DB4GTs, a DB4GT Zagato, Project 212 and Project 214.

A whole load of Ferrari 250 GT SWBs with the party being crashed by a Maserati and 250 Drogo.

Count the GTOs. The ex-Innes Ireland chassis 3505 in the foreground.

A few more to get the total up to 15.

Half of the Silver Arrows: it was impossible to get a clear shot all weekend as they were constantly surrounded.

An amazing line up of Cobras in honour of Carroll Shelby.

The Daytona and Le Mans Coupes. It was interesting to see the differences between the two side by side.

The Aerodynamica that I posted about last week and even more dramatic in the metal.

Two Porsche 904/6s from the Fordwater trophy sitting next to the competition, a 275GTB/C. Always a good racing pitting MG Bs, Morgans and Lotus' against Shelby Mustangs and Alfa TZ1s!

The beautifully prepared, incredibly loud and super quick Ecurie Francorchamps SWB/C.

A selection of GT40s with the pale green Targa Florio roadster just out of shot to the right.

A nicely patina'd Maserati A6GCS.
